Preserving and celebrating
artistic excellence

The Lambrecth Foundation was born from a shared passion for contemporary art and a desire to highlight exceptional talents. Founded in 2020 by Christian Lambrecth and Brigitte Beckers, our mission is built on three fundamental pillars.

We preserve with the utmost care more than 85 major works, ensuring their conservation for future generations. We exhibit these artistic treasures through carefully orchestrated exhibitions in the most prestigious European institutions. Finally, we promote the work of our artists by supporting their international recognition.

Our approach is distinguished by its high standards: each artist supported by the Foundation demonstrates remarkable technical mastery and a profound artistic vision that redefines the codes of European contemporary art.

The word as raw material

"The word is the matter, the tool and the object"

Internationally renowned urban artist, ABES has revolutionized the approach to graffiti by transcending it into a form of visual poetic art. His masterful work "Fenêtre sur mots" perfectly illustrates his approach: transforming written language into an immersive visual experience where each letter becomes a plastic element in its own right.

Self-taught and nurtured by the hip-hop culture of the 90s, ABES has been developing for over twenty years a unique artistic language where writing becomes painting. His urban interventions, true monumental calligraphies, have marked the landscapes of numerous European metropolises, from Paris to Berlin, from Brussels to Amsterdam.

The Lambrecth Foundation preserves an exceptional collection of his works, testifying to the evolution of his style from his first mural interventions to his most recent canvas compositions. His work questions our relationship with language, urban communication and the place of writing in contemporary public space.

Everything you need to
know about the Foundation

Do you have questions about our mission, our artists or our exhibitions? Find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

The Lambrecth Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of European contemporary art. Founded in 2020 by Christian Lambrecth and Brigitte Beckers, it currently supports three exceptional artists: ABES, Stéphanie ALIKI and Luis SALAZAR. Our mission is built on three pillars: preserving over 85 major works, organizing prestigious exhibitions, and supporting the international recognition of our artists.

Some works from the collection are permanently visible at the brasserie-restaurant "Le Robert" located at the CHU in Liège. The Foundation also organizes exhibitions approximately once a year at various cultural venues. To find out about our upcoming exhibitions, visit our "Exhibitions" page or subscribe to our newsletter to receive all the latest news first.

The Lambrecth Foundation focuses on preserving its artistic heritage and does not sell works from its collection. However, during our exhibitions, artists may present their own personal canvases which are sometimes available for acquisition. In this case, the transaction takes place directly between the artist and the purchaser. Feel free to engage with the artists during our opening receptions.

The selection of artists is primarily based on the tastes and artistic preferences of Christian Lambrecth and Brigitte Beckers. The Foundation is not limited to its three current artists and remains open to discovering new talents. If you are an artist and wish to present your work, you can contact us by email at [email protected] by attaching your portfolio. We review each proposal carefully.

The Foundation primarily organizes opening receptions and classic exhibitions to present works from its collection and its artists. These events are privileged moments to discover contemporary art in a friendly atmosphere and engage directly with the artists. Our programming evolves according to opportunities as they arise. Stay informed via our newsletter!

There are several ways to support the Lambrecth Foundation: make a donation to contribute to our preservation and exhibition programs, participate in our opening receptions and events, or purchase merchandise, booklets and refreshments during our exhibitions. Every contribution, whatever its form, helps us continue our mission of preserving and promoting contemporary art. For more information, contact us at [email protected].
